Summer is Here

It has been way too long since we've posted anything. Lots has changed since our last post. Summer is here and we are loving it all the benefits of outdoor adventures with the kids.

We got a sandbox for Caleb that he loves. Joshua got in it last weekend too and got his first mouthful of sand. He didn't seem to mind. After I got most of the sand out of his mouth, he still drooled mud for a little while. We also purchased a swingset kit and built a swingset for the kids. Both boys love to swing. Just like we were warned, it took forever to get the swingset built, but so far it has been great fun and keeps the the kids occupied.

We've been taking lots of trips to the zoo this year. The South Bend zoo is small, but fun for the kids and close to our house. We got a membership so we can go as often as we want.

Joshua has changed a lot since early April when I posted. The biggest change for me and Matt is that Joshua sleeps much better now. After a week or so of some tough love parenting, he now takes two nice naps during the day and sleeps for 12 hours at night. Ahhh....rest for all. He is also eating all sorts of things. He still isn't a big fan of us feeding him. He wants to feed himself. His favorites are bananas and toast. Joshua started crawling just before Easter and he is now pulling himself up and trying to walk between pieces of furniture. We also discovered, a bit to our dismay, that he can now climb stairs just well enough to get up a few and then slide (or fall) back down. Time for baby gates....
