Matt and Nicole, Contractors for Hire
OK, maybe we're not actually for hire, but it sure feels like it. I haven't posted for a month and a half, and here's why.
- March 31 we put in an offer on a house here in IN. It was accepted shortly thereafter, and we went under contract for the new place.
- The following weekend we took a two-day trip to Chicago (our new town is a mere 1.5 hours away).
- The following Monday we had the house inspection, then Nicole and Caleb headed up to Grand Rapids for the week.
- We closed on April 21st on our new house.
- Nearly every day since then we have spent any available time either ripping out floors, taking down wallpaper, painting, or installing new floor (I'm learning the art of ceramic tiling). Hence the post title.
So life's been a bit hectic. We have tons of pictures of all of the above (trip to Chicago, before and after house pictures) which I will post sometime in the next year (better to under-promise and over-perform).
Our life will begin to return to normal this coming week. On Monday/Tuesday, we are having new carpet installed in much of the house, and on Friday our furniture and other non-essential stuff is being delivered from storage-in-transit, where it's been since March 26th. We've been living in this temporary apartment, which we will be moving out of by June 12th, so there's still some overlap to finish up some of the projects and get things situated.
