Summer Updates

I am now finally getting around to posting a summer update... sorry for the long period of inactivity! First off, I uploaded a couple hundred pictures to Webshots last night, creating galleries for June, July, and August. There are lots of good shots in there, so check it out!

So what have the Browns been up to? Well, I'll work backwards as it's easier on the mind. We were on vacation from Augus t3 to 13 in Michigan. It was an action packed visit! From Saturday the 4th through Thursday the 9th we were in Glen Arbor (near Sleeping Bear Dunes at the tip of the pinky) with Nicole's family for some quality beach time. Then on Thursday it was back down to Grand Rapids for Amy and Peter Joe's wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner (via Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant to pick up Peter Brown from band camp). On Friday we were at a Brown family and friend picnic to celebrate the wedding, and then of course the wedding was on Saturday. On Sunday me and Peter Brown went back up North for a Bela Fleck and the Flecktones concert at Interlochen (not too far from Glen Arbor), and then on Monday myself, Nicole, and Caleb drove home to the burgh. It was a great trip - not only did we get some quality vacation time in, but we also saw and caught up with many family members and friends.

July was comprised of a trip to Michigan for one of the weekends (wedding shower for Amy), and a couple of picnics with friends on the weekends and for the Fourth. We didn't go to Michigan for the Fourth, since we had the big trip in August planned; this was a bit sad because we are usually back for that holiday. All in all July was a good month though - somewhat restful and also eventful.

In June, Nicole took a long weekend trip to Florida to visit Heidi (Hudson) DenBesten along with her other friends from high school Susan (Potter) Benthem and Shannon Small. My mom came down for the weekend to assist with watching Caleb while I was at work. Near the end of June the Buicks came down for a weekend visit, and we went to a nearby park that we had recently discovered. You'll see pictures on my Webshots page from that trip, as well as the other trips I've mentioned.

As the fall is nearly upon us, I hope everyone is doing well. I will do my best to keep things updated, although I'll say right now that I am beginning my last semester of grad classes and will be in class two nights per week starting in a couple weeks - bottom line, don't be surprised if we have another several month period without any updates! Of course, I suppose there's always going to be an excuse... oh well, such is life.
