Heading Out for a Much Needed Break

After three months of customizing our house and getting acclimated to a new area / job, the Brown family is taking a week off. We are heading up today to the Whitehall / Montague area of the Lake Michigan lakeshore (north of Muskegon), for a week on the beach with Nicole's family. It is sure to be relaxing, unless of course our new-son-to-be decides to pop his head out early. Nicole will be full term by the time we head home (due date is Aug 19th), so we are cutting it a little close... in case of emergency, sister-in-law Emily, who will be with us the second half of the week, is a registered nurse. And I just printed out a list of "unexpected self-delivery tips," so we've got it covered! (it's hard to type with a scared / sarcastic tone, but you can read between the lines)

In other news, two weekends ago was Nicole and my fifth wedding anniversary. To celebrate, we had a romantic getaway at a B&B in Brown County, Indiana, an area south of Indianapolis with lots of nature, shopping, and peacefullness. The alone time was courtesy of Grandpa Brown and [step] Grandma Cindy, who did a wonderful job spoiling Caleb for two nights. (zoo trip, boat rides, build-a-bear workshop, what more could a 2.5-year-old ask for?)
