First Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. I'm really enjoying my first Father's Day with Caleb and Nicole. Around lunchtime, Caleb gave me the presents that he picked out (or so Nicole says) - a baseball, soccer ball, and football. What a fitting gift, as it won't be too long before Caleb will be wanting to play those sports. Nicole gave me a bocce set to round out the sports-related gifts, and it all made for a great starter set of outdoor sports equipment.

After the gift opening, since it is such a beautiful day, we went out for a hike at a park near our house. It was Caleb's first hike through the woods, and he enjoyed the scenery. We then had lunch at a picnic table and gave Caleb his first chance to swing. Overall - a great Father's Day thus far. And even better, now I'm watching the final round of the US Open. (Go Phil!)

Update: Too bad for Phil, shouldn't have kept pulling the driver!

Matt, sounds like a very productive Father's Day. Now you and Nicole can go out and play catch in the backyard. :-) Oh, and I liked your Phil update.
